The report was born as a result of a collaboration between the Ministry of Economy and the Research and Planning Director of the National Insurance Institute. The report shows that in 2013 about 4 billion NIS were paid in pensions to work-injured people, of which the vast majority (about 2.7 billion) was through disability pensions. These amounts do not include the damages caused to the workplaces themselves and other expenses. The report shows that between the years 2009-2012, 58% of the injuries in the workplace occurred in three main sectors of the economy. The deadliest industry is the construction industry: in 2013, 32 workers were killed in it, accounting for 52% of all fatalities in all accidents that year. Foreign workers are killed more

The report states that in the construction industry most of the fatalities, about 63%, are contractor workers compared to 37% who are company employees. The industry is especially deadly for foreign workers and 53.1% of the fatalities in the construction industry are not Israeli workers.
